Dear Reef Relief Supporter,
We want to take this time to thank you for your concern for our coral reef ecosystem. This year has been a very challenging and exciting year for Reef Relief and our coral reefs. Once again, our staff, volunteers and the Reef Relief High School Club have accomplished so very much with the resources that our members provide. We removed tons of trash from our shorelines and mangroves, implemented the Storm Drain stenciling program, celebrated another successful summer of Coral Camp, and continue our program of coral reef education and advocacy at the local and state level.
It seems, however, that success inevitably brings greater challenges. Our coral reef ecosystems and indeed our planet are under relentless attack from man-made disasters, corporate greed and those who seek to weaken or eliminate existing environmental protection regulations and reduce funding for the agencies that are tasked with enforcing environmental protections.
As a science driven, membership based, grassroots organization, Reef Relief has always been in a position to take on the tough issues. We can do this because we rely on our members, and our community. Your support gives us the freedom to lead the way in challenging and perilous times.
Our members and local business owners have remained generous during these unsettled economic times and as we face the challenges of the future together we ask you to take a moment or two and become a member of Reef Relief and encourage friends, family members and other individuals or organizations within your sphere of influence to join with us.
Your donation to our effort gives us the necessary resources we need to succeed. Together we are Reef Relief, Independent, Strong and Effective, protecting our coral reef ecosystem.
Sincerely,
Peter Anderson
Reef Relief President
