Act now to protect Pacific habitats from bottom trawls
Vibrant habitats full of ancient corals, living sponges, and sea anemones are being destroyed in the blink of an eye by bottom trawls. These heavy nets scrape across the sea floor, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
We’re working to have coral and sponge habitats off the U.S. Pacific coast identified as “Essential Fish Habitat Conservation Areas” and to protect them from destructive bottom trawling.
Sign by October 3 to tell the Pacific Fishery Management Council and the National Marine Fisheries Service to protect these fragile habitats from bottom trawling.
